I was placed in a group with Matt, Ivar, and Romi, and we created a big composite playground by meshing together our individual playground explorations. I really like what we ended up with — Matt and Romi brought in water and key structures (along with Ivar), and I added some small interactive elements throughout. We all had a mentality of “yes-and” which allowed us to work individually and add to structures we were excited about without stepping on each other’s toes or losing an overall cohesion.

I started by creating a play structure with different levels which brought to my mind the image of a city skyline. From there I further developed the theme to include other play equipment that evoked a city or urban feel. I wanted to include an innovative addition to the playground in some way, and thought light projection could work well with the building structures.
