HW: Proportional Form Explorations

For this exercise I chose a reference photo of a vase to examine. I dissected the vessel, breaking it down to it’s essential shapes and proportional relationships, and then applied my findings to the exercise of creating new, related forms.

Something I’ve begun to really notice is my tendency to slant upwards to the right when drawing and writing — I usually turn the paper I’m using (in the way I was taught in elementary school) so I’m not sure if the turn is what influences my angled drawing or if I’m overcompensating with my positioning because I see the page has been turned. I’m trying to work on getting better at balancing my drawings evenly on the horizontal axis.
